Downeast Ventures LLC
Downeast Ventures. Operating experience, put to work.
I spend my time with founders and investors building technology in industries where trust matters. Healthcare, education, and the pharmaceutical supply chain. I've led the technology behind a dozen of those transformations. Now I back and advise the people doing it next.

What I invest in
Downeast Ventures is my holding company. I invest in early stage software, mostly in health technology and the life sciences, and in multifamily real estate.
I'm a co-founder and board member at ARTiFACTS, whose Verify platform uses blockchain to track substandard and falsified medicines through the pharmaceutical supply chain, now in use across Sub-Saharan Africa. I'm also building two products of my own, QuikLink and Team Dynamic Labs.
How I work
I write my own code and I still design systems. When I invest, I'm useful on the technical questions that actually decide whether a company scales: architecture, build versus buy, how to structure a development organization, and when to bring work in house. I'm not a passive check.
Advisory and consulting
I advise private equity firms and individual investors on technology diligence and post-investment value creation. I know what a healthy engineering organization looks like from the inside, and what a broken one costs.
I also serve on boards of startups and mid-sized companies, and that's where I want to spend more of my time. I sit on the board at ARTiFACTS and have chaired the board at Pathbright.
